Engineering Design, Kinematic and Dynamic Analysis of High Lugs Rigid Driving Wheel, a Traction Device for Conventional Agricultural Wheeled Tractors

Traction failure on loose terrain is common in conventional agricultural wheeled tractors due to poor traction ability and lower power transfer efficiency of drive wheels, which leads excessive energy consumption soil compaction agriculture. To overcome the problem, this paper presents a new design rigid lugged wheel for use field tillage operations. This was designed according operational requirements also provided with rubber pads smooth on-road drives. Kinematic dynamic analysis designs were carried out study how they move, interact soil, generate force soil. The relationship lug motion trajectories, displacement, velocity relative conditions, different travel reduction rates, penetration/wheel sinkage analyzed. Wheel-terrain interaction shear stress-shear displacement relationships when driven soft, deformable studied using classic mechanics principles. It found that component thrust direction driving, i.e., driving force, ranged between 81.52% 86.17%, while vertical reported be less than 30% further decreases 9%, avoiding factor. relationships, thus developed, parameters, stress characteristics, derived revealed performance, efficiency, trafficability can improved by newly proposed wheel. A finite element method used analyze model structural stability optimization. theoretical results are convincing, so tests operation research recommended sustainable adoption.
